Should you wish to join our team you will have the opportunity to care for our clients' home and their pets. Should you enjoy the assignment you can return to the same client.
You reside in the client's home and look after it as you would your own. Clients like to have the reassurance of a presence on their property whilst they are away and we are the answer.
We expect you to use your discretion and objectivity in the amount of time that you are away from the property. We would prefer you to be on the property from dusk. This gives you the opportunity of visiting historical places of interest and enjoying the local countryside.
Whilst at the client's property there are some tasks that need to be undertaken on a daily basis for which we have a Daily Average Agreement.
These may vary but can include:
- Checking that the property is secure
- Feeding, walking, grooming and general care of pets
- Taking telephone messages
- Watering plants as necessary
- On day of departure ensure that the clients' home is left clean and tidy.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure at the client's property. You have the opportunity to use client's swimming pools and tennis courts, read books, watch television and rest.
Absentia is a leading national and international house sitting company. We offer our clients the reassurance of having responsible people living in their home whilst they are away.
We look after many varied houses and animals from chinchillas, llamas to cats and dogs. Assignments range from a few days to months and, sometimes, years!
To join Absentia:
We are looking for people who would like to work on an ad hoc basis throughout the year. People who are able to undertake at least four assignments per year. We recruit people who wish to supplement their private income/pension, who have held responsible positions in their working life. Age is no barrier to joining Absentia but you need to be versatile, fit, active and able to cope in an emergency.
As a member of our team you MUST be a resident of the United Kingdom, have a car and preferably own your own home. You must be on the telephone and have a car.
